It no longer exists, but for two years I posted a haiku poem a day on a Tumblr blog. It was called Project Haiku.
I thoroughly enjoyed that project. Sometimes it was very hard to come up with a new haiku every single day. But, I would typically write the daily haiku in the morning, and I think it got my brain going and got me thinking outside the box for the rest of the day.
Since then I’ve wanted to start another haiku related venture. For a long time I’ve envisioned a form which could count syllables, and then the site would center around that.
I’ve finally been able to make this a reality.
You may now sign up at https://haikuer.com and quickly post original haiku poetry. In the 5-7-5 American format. In fact, if you don’t follow the 5-7-5 format, you won’t be able to post.
Whether you’re seriously into serious haiku writing, or, you just want to post random statements in haiku format, become a Haikuer.
The first image in this post is the logo. Obviously the dots represent the 5-7-5 syllables. Some are colored in to represent an “H” for Haikuer.
